Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z is very strange to me. It reminds me of the Japanese arcade game, Zenkai Battle Royale. To be honest, Battle Royale looks better than Battle of Z from what I've seen. In Zenkai, you can lock on to people, run around, and most importantly, each character has their own unique abilities. Frieza snipes with the Deathbeam, Broly grabs people by the face, using them as a shield and melee weapons even, Goku uses Spirit Shot (The move where he uses ki to push people away), Cell can even blow himself up as he did in the anime. Zenkai pays attention to details like this and not to mention it looks amazing. The graphics look better than any other Dragon Ball Z game I have ever seen, gameplay is fantastic, and the character models are going for a sort of realistic look which actually looks nothing short of amazing. The downside is no large amount of characters however each character has many alt costumes and it is an arcade game only in Japan. The last thing is the fact that there is way too much HUD. It's all over the place. Battle of Z looks like a weak attempt to copy this game. However, I am glad to see Dragon Ball games taking a step in the right direction and not giving us the same repackaged game with prettier graphics. I love the idea and it gives me the feel of the Earth's Special Forces: Final Dragon Ball game being made. Battle of Z is very unpolished, the graphics remind me of BT3, animations look stiff, and so on. You can counter this with the fact that it is in beta stage and not completed but really, the only thing that improves in final products are animations and only a little. Everything looks so cartoony, and I know we all want so much to believe this game will be incredible, but honestly, we would be better off with a ported Zenkai: Battle Royale. You can hold people down for team attacks for christ sake. It looks AMAZING. In Battle of Z, you can't even play offline multiplayer, WTF? Anyways, I haven't given up hope on this game and neither should you guys but I just don't want another Ultimate Tenkaichi sized disappointment coming along.

I for one need a good DBZ game made by people who know what they are doing and Zenkai Battle Royale seems to be just that game.

I feel like we need to just tell the developers want we actually want save for the few idiots who keep telling them to repackage old games and make them HD. I mean come on people, we need something new, not BT3 HD Edition. We need to let them know they struck gold with Zenkai. We need to show them where the right path is with these games or else they will keep sending out Budokai Tenkaichi whatever with better graphics each year with the same gameplay. (I love BT3 and the Raging Blast series but they are all the same game).

J-Stars Victory VS (ジェイスターズ ビクトリーバーサス, Jei Sutāzu Bikutorī Bāsasu) is a crossover fighting video game that combines the universes of several Weekly Shōnen Jump manga series, including former series and some that have been transferred to other magazines. J-Stars Victory VS lets up to four players battle it out against one another using gameplay and graphical style similar to those of Dragon Ball: Zenkai Battle Royale. A defeated character comes back after a set amount of time passes. To win the battle, all three sections of the WIN gauge at the top of the screen have to be filled; the gauge fills one section each time an opponent is defeated.
